The Fourth of July and the celebration of our nation’s birthday is coming up quickly. The City of Villa Park wants to remind everyone that only California State Fire Marshal approved Safe and Sane fireworks may be purchased, possessed or discharged within the city.
Villa Park is one of several Orange County cities where safe and sane fireworks are permitted for sale. The Villa Park Municipal Code restricts the total number of fireworks stands within the city to three (3). Click here to see Article 11-2.- Safe and Sane Fireworks in our Municipal Code.
The Villa Park Community Services Foundation, Friends of the Villa Park Library, Villa Park Rotary and Villa Park Women’s League shall be issued one (1)temporary stand permit each year, to be shared as a joint venture, and the schools (SE, VPE, CVMS, VPHS) Parent Faculty Student Organizations shall be issued one (1) temporary stand permit each year, to be shared as a joint venture. The remaining permits shall be issued by lottery to qualified applicants. The lottery, if necessary, shall take place at a City Council meeting.
If your organization would like to sell fireworks for this upcoming 4th of July, download the packet above and submit a completed application to City Hall. Deadline for applications is April 30th.

2019 Important Dates
April 1st -April 30th: Applications can be filed
May 28th: Lottery at City Council Meeting (only if more than 3 applications are received)
June 15th-27th: Inspections
Note: Inspections are only conducted on Monday, Wednesday or Friday and the organization must call (714) 998-1500 twenty-four (24)hours in advance to schedule an inspection.
June 30th- July 3rd : Fireworks can be purchased from 10:00AM-10:00PM
July 4th: Fireworks can be purchased from 10:00AM-8:00PM
**July 4th: Fireworks can only be used 12:00PM-10:00PM
Be sure to be safe when using fireworks. Stay ten (10) or more feet away from houses, garages, vehicles, utility lines, and vegetation. For more fireworks safety tips, tune into channel 99 for AT&T subscribers, channel 3 for Time Warner subscribers, or on the homepage of the Villa Park website. The City of Villa Park will also be airing a Fireworks Safety and Education Program on its TV channel at 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM, and 4:00 PM everyday.

Three (3) organizations will be chosen at random to operate booths and sell fireworks. Deadline for applications is April 30th.
