Mayor Pro Tem Nicol Jones was elected to serve the City of Villa Park on the Villa Park City Council in 2022.
Councilwoman Jones is a long-time Villa Park resident, having moved to Villa Park as a child. She graduated from U.C. Irvine and earned her Master’s degree from Chapman University. She resides in Villa Park with her husband, Chris, who is a CTO for a software company in Irvine. They have four children together, all of whom attended the same Villa Park schools that Nicol attended as a child. Her oldest son is currently serving our country as an officer in the United States Air Force.
Nicol has an extensive business background from working for a small business headquartered in Anaheim. She retired from the company after over 25 years to stay at home with her children and concentrate on her nonprofit work.

She was on the founding committee for the City of Villa Park HalloweenFest, one of the City’s most popular celebrations. In addition, Nicol has been very involved in implementing strategies in our local schools to address student mental health. This work included opening the very first Wellness Center in Orange Unified School District, and she received an award in 2021 from the Orange County Department of Education for her work in this area. She has also received Community Volunteer Awards from Leadership Team Orange in 2018, 2019, and 2023.
As a Councilmember, Nicol serves on the Law Enforcement Advisory Committee (LEAC), the Housing Legislative Committee, and the OUSD Schools Advisory Committee.
