The City of Villa Park, in conjunction with Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Neighborhood Watch, will sponsor a Home Security Fair on Thursday, April 23, 2020, 6:00-8:00 PM in the Community Room at Villa Park City Hall (17855 Santiago Boulevard). The event is designed to assist residents in maximizing home and personal safety in today’s world.
Up-to-the-minute programs and products will be featured, and attendees will be furnished with opportunities to discuss with law enforcement officials, experienced vendors and professionals issues such as online security, safe use of social media by all ages including children and teens, identity theft, phone and email scams, home security cameras and alarm systems, window/door lock mechanisms, remote monitoring systems, etc. Resident volunteers will be on hand to explain the Neighborhood Watch, Dog Walker Watch and Professional Service Responders (PSR) programs and to initiate participation by Villa Park residents. The “Do Not Solicit” and Vacation Check services offered through the City will be explained, and residents will receive personal instruction on how to enroll if they have not already done so. Safety tips and information from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, National Crime Prevention Council and FTC will be available.
There is no charge for the event, and all residents are encouraged to attend. Villa Park enjoys a relatively low crime rate, and this event will assist residents in maintaining that level of security in their community. Questions may be directed to Villa Park City Hall, (714) 998 - 1500.
